13-17 years old, boys and girls.

Rugby is an historic school founded in 1567, located 1 hour by train from central London. It is most famous for being the birthplace of the game of rugby and was also the inspiration for Tom Brown’s Schooldays. Famous past pupils include Lewis Carroll, the author of Alice in Wonderland. The school has extensive grounds and excellent facilities which include an indoor pool, sports hall, multi-purpose indoor and outdoor courts for tennis and other sports. The school is also a short walk from Rugby town. Rugby offers fully residential courses in single, twin or triple study-bedrooms.

English & Activities Course

20 hours of English lessons per week, taught by EFL qualified teachers

Broad programme of activities, including: archery, arts and crafts, assault course, badminton, barbecues, basketball, bowling, canoeing, cooking, cricket, cycling, disco nights, fancy dress parties, filming, movie nights, golf, introduction to rugby, riffle shooting, soccer, swimming, ping pong, tennis and talent show…

Possible London excursions include: Covent Garden, Houses of Parliament, London Eye, London museums, London sightseeing, shopping, Theatre, and the Tower of London. Outside London excursions include: Alton Towers, Birmingham, Cambridge, Leicester Space Centre, Milton Keynes, Pitsford Water, Stratford-upon-Avon, and Warwick Castle…

Combines English lessons with learning to take creativity into new dimensions

Students receive 27 hours of structured, creative activity in a well resourced environment by industry professionals:

  • Digital photography
  • Film production
  • Computer graphics
  • Latest technologies

English lessons taught by EFT qualified teachers: 20 hours of English per week

Includes two full day and one half-day excursions

English and Rugby Course at Rugby School

For boys only

27 hours of coaching by top Rugby Football Union qualified coaches:

  • Assessment at the start of the course
  • Individual and team skills
  • Focus on different aspects of the game handling of the rugby ball, receiving and passing; kicking and tackling
  • Visit of a First Division Rugby stadium

English lessons taught by EFT qualified teachers: 20 hours of English per week

Includes two full day and one half-day excursions
