Historical school founded in 1572 under charter from Queen Elizabeth I. It is located 40 minutes from central London and occupies 450 acres of lush fields and excellent facilities (Indoor swimming pool, Astroturf, tennis and squash courts, etc...) overlooking London from the top of its hill. Famous past pupils include Prime Minister Winston Churchill, the poet Lord Byron and King Hussein of Jordan.

Courses at Harrow School
1. English & Activities Course

20 hours of English lessons per week, taught by qualified EFL (English as a Foreign Language) teachers.

Broad programme of activities, including: archery, arts and crafts, assault course, badminton, barbecues, baseball, basketball, bowling, climbing wall, cricket, disco nights, fencing, movie nights, golf, horse riding, laser-quest, karaoke, pool, soccer, swimming, ping pong, tennis and water skiing.

Possible London excursions include: London Aquarium, London Eye, London museums, famous markets, London sightseeing, Madame Tussaud´s, shopping, Thames River disco, the tower of London, West End theatre productions. Outside London excursions include: Bath, Bicester Village outlet, Brighton, Cambridge, Hampton Court palace, Oxford, Stonehenge, theme parks, Windsor castle.

This course can be two, three or four weeks long
Prices are £2,080, £3,085 and £4,000 respectively

These courses combine English lessons
with golf or tennis clinics.
All the teachers are EFL accredited
and all coaches are highly qualified.
2. English and Sports Academy (Tennis or Golf) at Harrow School

These courses combine English lessons with:

Pupils will have 27 hours of sports sessions, led by qualified and experienced coaches:

  • Instructor to student ratio of 1 to 8 or lower
  • Proven coaching methods including video analysis
  • Students evaluation at the start of the course
  • Enjoyable end of course tournament

English lessons are taught by EFL qualified teachers: 18 hours of English lessons per week

They include two full day excursions and four afternoon/evening excursions

These courses are two weeks long

English & Tennis Academy Course

Includes 27 hours of tennis sessions

Using Harrow School’s state of the art tennis facilities in the beautiful surroundings of this world-famous school:

  • 6 porous acrylic courts
  • 6 acrylic courts

Complete programme covering all aspects of the tennis game:

  • Service, ground strokes and volleying
  • All aspects of positional play
  • Better understanding of game tactics and match play

 

English & Golf Academy Course

Includes 27 hours of golf sessions

All students will be assessed during the first period of instruction and will be taught at two levels:

Beginner:

  • Top class teaching in all aspects of this challenging game, including stance, grip, swing and an introduction to long and short play
  • Use of Northwick Park’s excellent new golf centre (within walking distance of the School)

Intermediate/players with a handicap:

  • Tuition offered in all aspects of the game
  • Access to Harrow School’s own course
  • Use of Northwick Park’s superb facilities (9 hole course, driving range, pitching area and putting green)
  • Three local 18 hole courses played
  • The aim: to increase pupils’ understanding and confidence and to reduce their handicap

The Golf Academy Course can be combined easily with the Tennis Academy Course, or with an English and Activities course

As well as improving their English, your children
can improve their piano skills with the help
of Artistic Directors from the London Academy
of Music. They will also enjoy magnificent
concerts in the Royal Albert Hall.

3. English and Piano Academy course at Harrow

In collaboration with Steinway & Sons

Includes 27 hours of

  • Piano lessons
  • Master classes
  • Group workshops with Artistic Directors from the London Royal Academy of Music

Use Harrow School’s facilities including concert pianos and top quality practice rooms

English lessons taught by qualified EFL teachers: 18 hours of English lessons per week

Excursions and activities include:

  • Tickets to a Royal Albert Hall concert (BBC Proms)
  • Steinway & Sons tour, with the chance to play some of their instruments
  • Audition for the end of course recital in Steinway Hall, London
  • Chance to be a part of the Harrow Piano Festival 2010
  • Artistic director recitals
